Cookie Policy

Effective May 10, 2026

This page explains what cookies (and similar browser storage) Realtors' Practice uses, and why. We use very few — only the ones the platform genuinely needs to function. No third-party advertising cookies, no analytics tracking pixels.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. We also use related browser technologies — localStorage and IndexedDB — which behave similarly. Throughout this page “cookies” covers all of them.

Cookies we use

We use four categories of cookie / storage:

1. Strictly necessary — required for the platform to work. You can't opt out without losing functionality.

  • next-auth.session-token — your sign-in session, signed JWT, valid 30 days. Without this you'd need to sign in on every page load.
  • __Host-next-auth.csrf-token — protects against cross-site request forgery on auth endpoints.
  • next-auth.callback-url — short-lived, remembers where to redirect you after sign-in.

2. Functional — remembers your preferences across visits. Removable from your browser, but the platform will revert to defaults.

  • localStorage: rp-recent-searches — your last 6 search queries for autocomplete suggestions.
  • localStorage: rp-scrape-locations — your last-used filter selections on the Scraper page.
  • localStorage: data-explorer-view — whether you prefer Data Explorer in table / cards / kanban view.
  • localStorage: rp-data-explorer-page-size — your preferred page size on Data Explorer.
  • localStorage: theme — your light / dark mode choice.

3. Performance + caching — speeds up the platform.

  • IndexedDB: rp-react-query-cache — caches API responses (properties, saved searches, market reports) for instant page loads.
  • Service Worker cache — currently disabled (we ship an unregister-only stub to clear stale caches from prior versions).

4. None of the following:

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No third-party analytics (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Segment, etc.).
  • No social-media tracking pixels.
  • No fingerprinting.

Managing cookies

You can:

  • Clear cookies via your browser's settings → site data → clear for realtors-practice-new.vercel.app. You'll be signed out and your preferences will reset.
  • Block cookies at the browser level. The platform won't work properly — sign-in will fail because the session cookie can't be set.
  • Use private / incognito mode. All cookies vanish when you close the window.

Third-party cookies

The only third party that may set cookies on our domain is:

  • Mintlify — when you visit /docs, the documentation is proxied from Mintlify's service. Mintlify may set its own session cookie for search and analytics on docs pages. See Mintlify's privacy policy.

For Google sign-in: when you click “Continue with Google”, you're briefly redirected to Google's domain. Google may set its own cookies during that flow under its own privacy terms. None of those cookies persist on our domain.

Changes to this policy

If we add, remove, or significantly change the cookies we use, we'll update this page and bump the effective date at the top.
